Deloitte has been named the most popular graduate recruiter in the UK in the consulting sector at the third TARGET National Graduate Recruitment Awards. UK students vote Deloitte the most popular graduate recruiter in consulting
Around 30,000 votes were cast by students and recent graduates in a national survey in the UK to identify the most popular graduate recruiter in different sectors of work. Deloitte beat off tough competition to win the award by demonstrating that it was not only well-known and respected by students but that it was the employer that most students wanted to work for in this sector.
In total there were 14 awards, spread over different sectors of employment, to celebrate the most popular graduate recruiters, to reward the most outstanding contribution to diversity, the most effective campaigns and websites.
The eight sector-based awards in banking and investment; construction; engineering and science; finance and professional services; IT and communications; law; consulting and retail were voted for by students and recent graduates through an independent voting system hosted by Enhance Media.
Four awards - the best student marketing campaign for organisations recruiting fewer than 50 graduates, the best student marketing campaign for organisations recruiting more than 50 graduates, the best graduate recruitment website, the best internship programme - were judged by an expert panel.
There was also a special award given by the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS), to the organisation demonstrating the most outstanding contribution to diversity in graduate recruitment. And a special award - the graduate employer of the year was given to the organisation with the most outstanding development programme.
Commenting on Deloitte's success, Chris Phillips Publishing Director at GTI commented: "Despite the increase in student numbers, competition for the most talented graduates is getting fiercer. Deloitte should be delighted that, within their sector, graduates hold them in such high regard."
