Deloitte to acquire Oracle HCM Company

The deal strengthens Deloitte Consulting's human capital consultancy; enhances their Oracle HR systems implementation consulting capabilities.
Deloitte Consulting LLP (Deloitte Consulting), a subsidiary of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, has agreed to acquire the assets of Xcelicor, Inc., one of the leading North American Oracle Human Capital Management systems (HCM) consultancies. The addition of Xcelicor's team of more than 80 professionals establishes Deloitte Consulting as a leading provider of Oracle human capital technology-related consulting services to the market.
In 2008, Oracle is scheduled to release Oracle Fusion Applications which is a single applications product line that Oracle expects will combine the best functionality from all of its current product lines. This is expected to create significant demand from users and a highly competitive market for qualified integrators and consultants. Through this acquisition, Deloitte Consulting will position itself as a leading provider of consulting services to this new market.
"The choice to integrate Xcelicor and Deloitte Consulting came after many months of exploration and deep discussions," said Mark Silverstein, CEO of Xcelicor. "True to the culture of both firms, the discussions started with each firm's approach to client service and talent management and continued on to a mutual vision of leading the broad market for Oracle HCM consulting services."
Xcelicor, a Oracle HCM provider in the marketplace and designated by Oracle Corporation as a Preferred Worldwide Strategic Partner, has a large and impressive client base that spans a multitude of industries and locations. It has 98 employees that will join Deloitte Consulting's Human Resource Transformation service line. The acquisition is expected to be completed in October.
