Deloitte Romania grows with 40%

The Romanian arm of international audit and consultancy firm Deloitte said it sees its turnover growth pace unchanged at 40% in the fiscal year 2007-2008 which started on June 1. "In the calendar year 2006 our turnover increased by more than 30% to over 18.3 million euro [$27.09 million]," Deloitte Romania said in a statement.
Deloitte Romania's president George Mucibabici would not give figures for the company's expected turnover in the fiscal year 2007-2008 when approached by SeeNews on Wednesday. Asked about the company's profit, he said, "So far, the company is profitable".
Audit services had the biggest share in the company's turnover with approximately 55%, followed by other fiscal and legal services with 20%, the company said in the statement. Deloitte Romania said it aims to increase its market share from 20% to 30% in 2008.
Romania's consultancy services market grew to 330 million euro last year from 280 million in 2005, according to Deloitte Romania. Deloitte Romania offers audit and financial consultancy services to domestic and international private companies active in Romania, as well as to the public sector.
The World Bank in October said it may cut its lending for road and railway infrastructure projects in Romania because Deloitte had failed to draft the necessary financial audits on time.
"At the moment the problem is solved, as the audit was sent in the meantime [to the World Bank] [...] It was about lack of communication," Mucibabici said.
