Market Uncertainty Sets the Stage for Financial Services M&A
Deloitte has today released a report that presents the most critical merger and acquisition (M&A) issues within the financial services industry in 2008. The report provides insights on dealmaking for the financial services industry in 2008, including the need for organizations to raise capital and an increasing trend for companies to remove themselves from noncore areas. It also discusses favourable exchange rates for overseas investors and their ability to justify higher valuations versus local organizations and how that will play out in the coming year.
