Deloitte CEO Murray Jack is pleased to announce that the New Zealand firm has recently reinvigorated and expanded its Human Capital offering to better meet growing market demand.

The local Human Capital practice will draw on Deloitte’s extensive global knowledge and expertise by now offering a broader range of services such as change management and culture, organisational learning and organisation structural review for both middle market, growing businesses, and for large-scale end entities as well.

Deloitte has the second largest Human Capital team globally and according to Murray Jack the talent drain, lure of overseas opportunities, increased focus on productivity and growing need for better structural and strategic change management means that more and more local organisations want better advice and assistance on their investment in Human Capital.

“The quality of employees can be improved by investing in them. The education, experience and abilities of an employee have a direct economic value for employers and for the economy as a whole. As a result people issues by default will continually need to be better aligned and integrated into a company’s overall business strategy.”

“Human Capital professionals are far more than just HR consultants — they are broad-based business consultants who specialize in integrating people issues with business strategy to enhance an organisation’s performance, productivity and profitability.”

“Up until now our local existing Human Capital practice has predominantly catered for the middle market and the corporate market’s needs have been met on an ad-hoc basis through our Consulting Strategy and Operations practice. We’ve now combined our resources to create a fully integrated service offering, just like our advice to our clients we’ve identified an opportunity and acted on it,” adds Murray Jack.

The Human Capital practice will be headed by Consulting Partner Kate McDonald and Associate Director Matt Ballard.

- Kate McDonald is based in the Auckland office. She has over 13 years business process reengineering experience, working with organisations across industries including manufacturing, health care and general public sector, in business process redesign and reengineering and implementation, supported by change management and communications.

- Matt Ballard has been with the firm since 2005, having previously worked with Royal/Dutch Shell Group in a variety of international locations working in general management, industrial relations, HR and change management.

“The new practice will focus predominantly on the Auckland and Wellington marketplaces while also working closely with our Australian colleagues. Our Hamilton and Dunedin offices will continue to cater to their local market needs especially in relation to executive recruitment,” adds Murray Jack.
