Capgemini CFO denies fresh Profit Warning

Capgemini , Europe's largest IT services company, on Monday denied fresh market talk it could alter its guidance. "We will reach our targets. I strongly re-affirm that and It is not necessary to implement extraordinary measures to do that," he added. "We categorically deny any profit warning rumour. These rumours are totally groundless," Chief Financial Officer Nicolas Dufourcq told Reuters by telephone.

He was speaking after fresh talk the company could revise downwards its outlook forced the shares down as much as 4 percent on Tuesday. The shares reduced their decline to 2.69 percent at 39.65 euros after Dufourcq spoke.

On Friday, Capgemini had already said the group was keeping its outlook for 2007 and 2008 unchanged and not altering projected synergies from its acquisition of Indian IT services firm Kanbay despite a knock-on impact from the U.S. subprime mortgage crisis.
