An analyst firm has ranked Capgemini number one in worldwide market share for utilities industry consulting services in 2006.
Capgemini earned the largest share of the worldwide market for the utilities industry consulting services in 2006, according to analyst firm Gartner's Market Share: IT Services in the Utilities Industry, Worldwide, 2006 report.
Capgemini also captured the second largest share of both the IT Services and the Development & Integration services markets and held the third largest share of the IT Management services market of the Utilities industry based on 2006 worldwide market share.
According to Colette Lewiner, senior vice president and head of global energy, utilities and chemicals for Capgemini, the company helped utility companies around the world tackle a host of challenging issues in 2006, ranging from dealing with market liberalization, customer relationship management, asset management, generation investments, productivity improvements, corporate governance, risk management and industry consolidation.
Lewiner continued, "based on what we've seen so far in 2007, utilities can expect even greater challenges in the months ahead, and that's why more than ever before, they need to seek out experienced third-party partners who can provide them with the insights and capabilities they need to achieve superior results."
